Ponzol M2 Plus Stainless-Steel Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece
The Ponzol M2 Plus is designed for tenor players who want maximum brightness, power and projection. It is the brightest and most powerful mouthpiece in the Ponzol tenor lineup.
The M2 Plus features a small-to-medium chamber—larger than a conventional small chamber but not quite as large as a typical medium chamber—paired with a high step baffle. This distinctive geometry produces a focused, brilliant sound with exceptional presence and cutting power while retaining depth and complexity in the tone.
Precision machined from solid stainless steel and individually hand faced, the M2 Plus delivers an immediate response and powerful projection. It is designed for players who need their tenor sound to project clearly in amplified settings, contemporary jazz, rock, R&B and other situations where power and brilliance are essential.

Choosing a Size
The Ponzol M2 Plus Tenor is available in two tip openings:
- .105 – The more responsive option, offering a slightly easier-blowing setup while retaining the power and brightness of the M2 Plus design.
- .110 – Most Popular – Our most popular choice, offering a more open feel with additional resistance and greater room to shape the sound.
Not sure which size to choose? The .110 is our most popular tip opening and a great starting point for players accustomed to moderately open tenor mouthpieces.
Chamber & Baffle Design
The M2 Plus does not use the typical small-chamber/high-baffle configuration found in many bright tenor mouthpieces. Its small-to-medium chamber provides more internal volume than a conventional small chamber, helping retain depth and complexity in the sound.
The chamber is paired with a high step baffle, the most aggressive baffle design in the Ponzol tenor lineup. Together, these features give the M2 Plus its characteristic brightness, focus, immediate response and powerful projection.
Why Stainless Steel?
Ponzol stainless steel mouthpieces are precision machined from solid stainless steel rather than manufactured from a plated brass or bronze blank. Because stainless steel does not require plating, the playing surface remains the original material throughout the life of the mouthpiece.
Stainless steel is exceptionally durable, dimensionally stable and resistant to wear and corrosion. There is no plating to wear through or flake, allowing the mouthpiece to retain its original finish and playing surface for many years.
Tenor Model Comparison
Vintage: Moderately Large chamber + low shelf baffle → darkest and fullest, with depth, warmth and some edge.
M2: Medium-large chamber + moderately high shelf baffle → bright and powerful, with more body, depth and tonal complexity.
M2 Plus: Small-to-medium chamber + high step baffle → brightest and most focused, with maximum power and projection.
