Ponzol Custom Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece
The Ponzol Custom Alto is designed for players looking for a bright, powerful alto sound with depth and tonal complexity. Its medium-large chamber and moderately high shelf baffle provide excellent projection and response while retaining body and character throughout the range of the instrument.
Precision machined from Delrin and individually hand faced, the Custom Alto combines a slim, comfortable profile with the feel and tonal characteristics players often associate with hard rubber. Compared with the Ponzol Stainless Steel Alto, the Delrin version has a warmer tonal character while retaining the power, projection and responsive feel of the Ponzol design.

The Ponzol Custom Alto is available in four tip openings:
- .075 – More responsive and free-blowing, with easy articulation and control.
- .080 – Most Popular – Our most popular choice, offering an excellent balance of response, flexibility and resistance.
- .085 – A more open setup for players who prefer additional resistance and greater room to shape the sound.
- .090 – The most open option, suited to players comfortable with larger alto tip openings and a more resistant setup.

Delrin is a precision engineering material with excellent stability, durability and machining characteristics. For a saxophone mouthpiece, it provides a comfortable feel and playing characteristics similar to hard rubber while allowing for an exceptionally precise, consistent design.
Compared with the Ponzol Stainless Steel Alto, the Delrin Custom has a warmer tonal character while retaining the power, projection and response of its medium-large chamber and moderately high shelf baffle design. Its slim profile also provides a feel similar to a metal mouthpiece without the weight or temperature sensitivity of metal.
